Semenya up for World female athlete of the year

File: South Africa's Caster Semenya has been nominated for World female athlete of the year.

JOHANNESBURG - South African middle-distance runner and 2016 Olympic gold medalist, Caster Semenya, has been nominated for the 2018 female World Athlete of the Year.

The Internal Association of Athletes Federations (IAAF) awards will be held on 4 December in Monaco.

Caster has had a stellar season. 

 The 27-year-old from Limpopo claimed gold at the Commonwealth Games in the 800m and 1 500m, as well as a 400m-800m double at the African Championships.
