Soccer fan dies after Chiefs vs Chippa United match

PORT ELIZABETH - A soccer supporter died on Saturday night following Kaizer Chiefs victory against Chippa United.

It is believed the fan died shortly after the final whistles in the game in which Chiefs beat its rivals 2-0 at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.

Premier Soccer League CEO, Brand de Villiers, confirmed the death on eNCA, adding that it happened during celebrations.

Fans invaded the pitch after the final whistle to celebrate the Amakhosi win.
 
Police will continue investigations to determine the exact cause of death.
