Countdown to #FIFA2018 has begun

MOSCOW - Football fever is in full swing in Russia, hours ahead of the Fifa World Cup kick-off.

The capital, Moscow, is a hive of activity as the number of flags and national football jerseys continue to grow.

On Wednesday night, revellers flocked to Moscow’s Red Square to attend a World Cup opening concert.

The Goal Symphony was also attended by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Thursday's opening match pits the hosts against Saudi Arabia.
