MILAN - AC Milan full-back Andrea Conti has been ruled out for six months after suffering a ruptured cruciate ligament in his left knee.
"Conti underwent diagnostic procedures this afternoon," the Serie A club said on Friday. "Tomorrow (Saturday) the Italy international will undergo knee arthroscopy surgery for ACL (cruciate ligament) reconstruction.
"His recovery time is expected to be six months."
Conti joined Milan in June for a reported 24 million euros (R377.12 million) from Serie A rivals Atalanta.
The 23-year-old had just earned his first call-up for Italy.
