JOHANNESBURG - South Africa&39;s Amateur MMA Bantamweight Champion Devon Cronje is hoping to compete at the International Mixed Martial Arts World Championships in Las Vegas on 8 July 2016.

There is no governing body to support professional fighters financially.

Like many athletes in a sport where sponsorship is hard to come by, Cronje turned to crowd-funding.

Cronje is hoping to raise enough money to travel to Nevada where he can achieve his lifelong dream of representing his country at the International Mixed Martial Arts World Championships.
