Dirks digging in his heels

When the Public Protector announced that an ethics complaint has been laid against the president, it did not mention the name of the complainant - only that it was a member of parliament. All signs pointed to suspended SCOPA member Mervyn Dirks. Dirks lost an urgent court bid on Tuesday to be allowed back onto the committee. The meeting was set to discuss claims that the president failed to disclose the possible use of public funds for ANC campaigning. Dirks’ lawyer Godrich Gardee clears the air. Courtesy #DStv403
