JOHANNESBURG - Russia’s long-time leader, Vladimir Putin, will seek a fourth term in next month’s elections.

Putin has registered with the central election commission as an independent candidate.

He's widely expected to win the election, which is scheduled to take place on the 18th of March.

The 65-year-old has been in power either as President or Prime Minister for 17 years.
