JOHANNESBURG - Russia’s long-time leader, Vladimir Putin, will seek a fourth term in next month’s elections.

Putin has registered with the central election commission as an independent candidate.

He&39;s widely expected to win the election, which is scheduled to take place on the 18th of March.

The 65-year-old has been in power either as President or Prime Minister for 17 years.
