Joburg city manager heads to court to avoid arrest

JOHANNESBURG - Joburg city manager Floyd Brink is rushing to court on Friday to try to stop his arrest.

He has been sentenced to 30 days in jail for contempt of court.

It all relates to a dispute over a water disconnection case.

The city manager failed to turn up to court for the case and was found in contempt.

But attempts by the Sheriff to arrest him fell short due to a spelling mistake on the warrant.

Mayoral spokesperson Mlimandlela  Ndamase is confident the matter will be resolved by the court.
