Cape fire victims still waiting for building materials

CAPE TOWN - Some fire victims in the Western Cape are yet to receive the start-up kits promised by the National Human Settlements Department.

It’s been well over two weeks since over a thousand people were displaced after blazes destroyed their homes.

The Human Settlements Department meanwhile says it provided building materials to 591 households in Cape Town between 28 March and 1 April.

Minister Mmamoloko Kubayi will visit Kayamandi in Stellenbosch on Thursday.
