Discussion | Public Eye Report | Sugar added in poorer nations' baby products

JOHANNESBURG - A new report has found the world’s largest consumer goods corporation, Nestle, adds sugar to baby formula and cereal sold in low and middle-income nations, including South Africa.

Zurich-based watchdog Public Eye and the International Baby Food Action Network conducted an investigation into 150 products sold by the company in developing countries.

They found high levels of sugar and honey in its infant milk and cereal products, however the same cannot be said for European markets.

Nzama Mbalati from The Healthy Living Alliance has more on this.
