JOHANNESBURG - The debate over the safety of pupils during school outings is back in the spotlight. 

Two Daveyton Skills School pupils drowned during a school trip at the Hennops River in Centurion on Monday.

According to Gauteng Education MEC, Matome Chiloane, the trip was not sanctioned and no teacher accompanied the pupils on the trip.
