World Malaria Day | SA recordered 7,800 malaria cases last year

JOHANNESBURG - Thursday is World Malaria Day and in our changing climate, provinces like KZN, Mpumalanga and Limpopo are facing increased challenges with outbreaks.

Despite strides in malaria prevention and treatment, the disease still claims a child's life every minute in Africa, costing the continent about R625-billion annually.

South Africa recorded over 7,800 malaria cases last year, with the potential for outbreaks to endanger nearly five million people in affected provinces.

How can we bring an end to this disease?

Sherwin Charles, CEO of Goodbye Malaria, joined eNCA to discuss this.
