Crime in SA | Three suspected blue light gang members killed near Grootvlei

JOHANNESBURG - Police have shot and killed three suspected members of a blue light gang on the N3 near Grootvlei during an overnight operation in the area.

One suspect is on the run after he managed to escape during a high speed chase.

The gang is said to have been tormenting motorists on the N3 between Villiers and Heidelburg.

They allegedly disguise themselves as police, then stop motorists, before hijacking them and holding them hostage for hours.

Police seized unlicensed firearms and ammunition, a blue light and cellphones.
