WATCH | An update on foot and mouth disease in South Africa

JOHANNESBURG - The Agriculture Department says great progress has been made in containing Food and Mouth Disease which plagued South Africa from 2021.

No cases were reported in the Eastern Cape, Northern Cape and Western Cape since the outbreak.  

In KwaZulu-Natal and the Free State, some farms and areas are still under restriction and animals may not move from these quarantined premises or districts.

The Agriculture Department's Deputy Director-General Dipepeneneng Serage gave an update to eNCA in the video above.
