Power restored to Joburg South after major outage

JOHANNESBURG - City Power says it's restored power to all substations affected by a widespread outage in Johannesburg South.

The outage is suspected to have been caused by a line trip at the Orlando Switching Station.

It affected the areas of Mondeor, Eldorado Park, Lenasia, Auckland Park and Riverlea.

The Eikenhof substation -- which feeds a Rand Water facility -- was also among the list of substations that were off.
