Heidelberg man dead after allegedly being locked in a supermarket fridge

JOHANNESBURG - A man in Ratanda in Heidelberg has died after he was allegedly locked inside a supermarket fridge.

The man was in there for allegedly stealing a chocolate.

It was previously reported that it was a 13-year-old teenager who had been killed.

Police and family have confirmed that it was a 33-year-old man instead.

The man had reported being in a supermarket cold room overnight.

According to the victim's sister, no one has been arrested anyone as there is no evidence as of yet.

She says authorities are also awaiting an autopsy report.
