Nine bodies identified from Limpopo bus crash

JOHANNESBURG - The Limpopo Health Department says it has received 34 body bags from Thursday's bus crash on the R518. 

Only nine bodies have been identified in the crash that's believed to have left 45 people dead.

Police are continuing recovery operations to ensure all victims are retrieved.

The only survivor, an 8-year-old girl, is in hospital with serious injuries.

Some bodies were burned beyond recognition while others were trapped inside or scattered on the scene.

Limpopo traffic spokesperson, Jane Mulaudzi, says the R518 road is now open.
