e-Tolls | Govt switching lanes over switching off gantries

JOHANNESBURG - The 31st of March is meant to be the day e-tolls are switched off.

But government and Sanral now seem to be driving in opposite directions.

In his SOPA, Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi promised R12-billion would be paid to settle the debt.

Drivers are now wondering if they should continue paying or tag out.

OUTA's Wayne Duvenage says stop, and if they come for you, let OUTA know.

"If I was somebody who had not paid, not worry about it at all," he said.

"If you get a summons, let us know at OUTA. We'll help you with the process."
