SA’s housing crisis | ANC accuses DA of putting profit before people

CAPE TOWN - The ANC in the Western Cape is accusing the DA of putting profits before people.

It says the party is selling land to private investors instead of developing it for affordable homes.

The parties were debating the housing crisis at an eNCA town hall meeting in Cape Town.

"When the ANC governed this province, we built an average of 15,000 houses per year. He just told us that they built 43 over five years, that's almost a 50 percent reduction," said the ANC's Cameron Dugmore.
