JOHANNESBURG - The Independent Examination Board's matric class of 2022 has recorded a 98.42 percent pass rate.
It's a slight increase from 2021's 98.39 percent.

But for those pupils who didn't make it, IEB CEO Anne Oberholzer says there's always another chance.
"I think the important thing for children to realise is that this set of exams is not the only set of exams that they are ever going to have access to. There is always a second and third chance," Oberholzer said.
"And schools will be able to advise those learners what is available to them through that school.
"The important point is for both the schools and the parents to support those children and to say it's not the end. Life goes on and we will make sure that your life goes on ok.
"We've got to keep children hopeful about the future. They cannot see this as the end."
