JOHANNESBURG - Privatisation could be the answer to the country's rail network problems according to Financial Mail contributing editor, David Williams.
He says government has clearly failed to maintain or restore the network.
Williams said, "it's been a combination of poor policies, operational practices, poor safety, security and so on, so we're on a point of collapse and there's been encouraging noises...privatisation, I think that's one area where there's a bit of a light at the end of the governance is a big issues, corruption is accepted as common cause."
