JOHANNESBURG - Health and security services firm, International SOS, is raising concerns about the spike in Malaria cases in Africa.
The firm says the disease was neglected during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic.
It's calling for more education in communities and says it remains hopeful the continent will win the fight against the disease, as there are more vaccines available.
According to the World Health Organization, there were about 241-million cases of malaria in 2020 compared to 227-million in 2019.
The number of deaths stood at around 627,000.
