JOHANNESBURG - The Gauteng government, in partnership with the Centre for the Study of Violence and Reconciliation, has hosted a discussion on community responses to gender-based violence.
That's after the centre conducted research about sexual violence and responses to it in eight communities.
Police Minister Bheki Cele recently released the quarterly crime statistics which found that between July and September, over 13,000 women have been victim to assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
During the same period, over 10,00 rape cases were opened with the police.
