Zuma Private Prosecution | Journalist hails 'victory for media freedom'
JOHANNESBURG - A massive victory for media freedom.
News24's assistant editor for Investigations, Pieter du Toit says Wednesday's ruling against former president Jacob Zuma's private prosecution attempt is a vindication for freedom of speech and freedom of the media.
Zuma wanted journalist Karyn Maughan and Prosecutor Billy Downer jailed for the alleged leaking of Zuma's confidential medical records.
Du Toit says the law must now be allowed to take its course.
