Motorists brace for Wednesday's massive petrol price hike

JOHANNESBURG - The Middle East War will hit motorists in the pocket this week.

Latest data from the Central Energy Fund shows that 95-octane petrol will rise by R5,82 per litre.

93-octane will go up by R5,32 and diesel may rise by up to R10,27 a litre. That excludes a fuel levy hike of around 21-cents per litre.

The fuel price is adjusted on the first Wednesday of each month. This means one of the steepest increase will arrive on April Fools Day.

But it’s no joke for a motorist driving a car with an average 60-litre fuel tank who will pay around R360 more to fill up.
