Cape Town port | Major efficiency boost for exports

CAPE TOWN - Export volumes at the Cape Town Port have risen by 24 percent compared to last year.

Transnet has invested R3.4-billion in new cargo handling equipment, including a fleet of Rubber Tyre Gantry cranes.

This is part of its nationwide upgrades to return South African ports to efficiency.

It's hoped that this turnaround will help the Cape Town port improve its competitiveness.
