Govt intends to bring lustre back to mining sector

CAPE TOWN - The African Mining Indaba will get underway in Cape Town on Monday.

Mineral and Petroleum Resources Minister Gwede Mantashe will deliver the opening address.

African leaders, industry role players, and investors will discuss the responsible development of the continent’s mineral resources.

The government intends to use the Indaba to restore and strengthen investor confidence in the country’s mining sector.

It comes amid concerns about the deadly crisis of illegal mining.
