JOHANNESBURG - South Africa’s annual consumer price inflation edged higher in October, reaching 3.6 percent, up from 3.4 in September.
Month-on-month, prices rose by 0.1 percent.
Key contributors to the increase were housing and utilities, which added 1.1 percentage points,
and food and non-alcoholic beverages, adding 0.7 percentage points.
Inflation for goods climbed to 3.1 percent, while services rose to 4 percent.
The numbers highlight ongoing pressure on household budgets as essential living costs continue to rise.
