JOHANNESBURG - South Africa is proposing new measures to tighten tobacco control.
Vaping and smoking will now face the same public restrictions.
Jeanette Hunter, Health Department Deputy Director General, said they are concerned as vapes contain nicotine.
"Nicotine is addictive and the vapour entering the lungs is harmful to the lungs and that is our concern at the moment," she said.
"With the research proving the harm to health, we have to communicate that it is not safe."
