PRETORIA - Several employees and their employers have been arrested in factories in Tshwane for the violation of the country's immigration laws.
The Home Affairs and Labour departments have been targeting businesses nationwide in an effort to enforce labour and immigration laws.

"The message we are sending throughout the country is that we are stopping the demand for illegal migrant labour," said Home Affairs Deputy Minister Njabulo Nzuza.
Nzuza said when employers get comfortable hiring undocumented migrants, they make it attractive for those looking to enter the country illegally.
"They must know that is costly to employ illegal migrants," he said.

Nzuza said those found to be illegal in the country will be processed and then deported. The employers, who are liable for a fine, will also go through the court system.
