JOHANNESBURG - The Council for Scientific and Industrial Research has successfully produced a specialised stainless-steel powder.
Up until now, the powder called 316-L (not litres) could only be imported.
It's a critical part of additive manufacturing and 3D printing.
Dr Miemie Maminza, Research Group Lead for powder metallurgy at the CSIR discussed this achievement with eNCA.
