Discussion | Cape Town deviates from national labour trends

CAPE TOWN - South Africa's unemployment rate is one of the highest in the world.

Stats SA released first quarter figures, with just under 33% of South Africans now unemployed.

WATCH: Unemployment rate climbs to 32.9%

But, it's not all doom and gloom. In the last year, The City of Cape Town has bucked that trend and added 86,000 jobs.

The City has the lowest expanded unemployment rate, with over 1.8-million people employed.
