JOHANNESBURG - Anglo American Platinum has confirmed that 3,700 people have lost their jobs or will be leaving the company this year.
Amplats embarked on a massive restructuring earlier this year as it prepares to remove itself from its parent company, Anglo American.
The company reported interim results on Monday for the six months that ended in June.
Headline earnings – a key indicator of profit in SA – fell by 18-percent, despite the cost-cutting measures.
But shares in the company were higher at the close of business today.
Anglo-American Platinum CEO, Craig Miller discussed this with eNCA.
