JOHANNESBURG - The Competition Commission has decided to refer the JSE to the Competition Tribunal for anti-competitive behaviour.
The Commission says the JSE has impeded the growth of rival exchange A2X.
It has recommended the JSE be fined up to 10 percent of its turnover.
The JSE responds that it “has cooperated fully with the commission throughout its investigation and “denies these allegations in the strongest possible terms."
It says it has been advised by external legal counsel that the commission’s claims are without merit.
Kevin Brady, CEO of A2X, discussed this with eNCA.
