AdvTech posts headline earnings increase of 17%

JOHANNESBURG - Private education group AdvTech has delivered its strongest financial performance on record, surpassing R2-billion in operating profit.

The group has reported a strong rise in headline earnings for the year to December, with headline earnings per share increasing 17 percent to 235,8 cents.

Continued enrollment growth across its schools and tertiary divisions along with disciplined cost control, supported this improvement.

AdvTech also lifted its full-year dividend to 118 cents per share, reflecting solid gains.

All South African school brands recorded enrollment gains, while the Rest of Africa schools division delivered even stronger growth boosted by the acquisition of Regis Runda in Nairobi.

The group said advancing collections, margin improvements and sustained demand for private education helped drive the performance.
