JOHANNESBURG - Households are struggling in the tough economic climate.

Altron FinTech's latest Resilience Index shows households are worse off now than before Covid-19.

Resilience declined by 2.4 percent compared with the fourth quarter of last year.

Economist Roelof Botha says it's largely due to interest rate hikes since November 2021.
