JOHANNESBURG - The deadline for mining giant BHP's fourth and final offer to Anglo American is fast approaching.
Last week, Anglo rejected BHP's third take-over offer, but left the door open with a week extension for it to make a final offer.
The last offer was for 38.6-billion British Pounds, or around 49-billion US Dollars.
BHP has until Wednesday, 29 May, to revise its offer.
The company's interest is largely in Anglo's copper, for its use in clean energy industries.
If a offer is not made, BHP will have to wait another six months before making another offer, according to UK finance law.
