Budget 2024 | Sunny outlook for extension of solar tax incentive

JOHANNESBURG - There are calls to extend and expand the solar tax incentive announced in the budget last year.

It comes as rebates for rooftop panels end at the end of this month.

Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana announced the incentive last year.

It was only available for one year for 25 percent of the cost of the panels up to a maximum of R15,000.

Head of private clients at tax firm Regan van Rooy, Irma Lategan, says the incentive should be extended.
