JOHANNESBURG - CANAL+ is beginning to reap the rewards of buying Multichoice.
The French media giant reported a 68% jump in operating profit for the first half of the year.
Revenue also climbed by 40%.
The performance was largely driven by the consolidation of South African media giant MultiChoice into the group.

Subscriber acquisitions in Africa increased by 7%.
June marked the strongest month for new subscriber sign-ups in South Africa in a decade.
The group also strengthened its sports offering.
It has secured long-term rights to the Premier Soccer League and the 2027 Men's and 2029 Women's Rugby World Cups across sub-Saharan Africa.
