JOHANNESBURG - Cashbuild reports a solid year with revenue up 3%, driven by growth in both existing and new stores.
Transactions at tills rose by 4%, while selling price inflation ended the year at 1.7%.
Gross profit grew 2%, and operating expenses decreased by 3%.
It was helped by fewer impairments and one less reporting week compared to last year.
Earnings showed strong gains, with basic earnings more than doubling and headline earnings up 10-percent.
Cashbuild also expanded, opening eight new stores and refurbishing 26 others, while planning further growth.
Despite ongoing market challenges, group revenue for the seven weeks after year-end is already 6% higher than last year.
