Clothing workers to receive new wage increase

JOHANNESBURG - Members of the South African Garment and Textile Workers Union will start receiving the new 2023 wage from Friday.

This wage increase is the result of a two-year collective agreement in the clothing

industry signed last year.

This is an increase of approximately 6.54% from 1 September.

About 60,000 garment workers in South Africa will benefit from this wage.
