Consumer confidence levels edge up

JOHANNESBURG - Consumers remain under significant pressure. 

That is according to the latest FNB/BER Consumer Confidence Index. 

The index did however improve slightly in the first quarter of 2024 to negative 15 driven mostly by high-income households. 

Middle-income households' confidence remained flat, while low-income households' confidence slipped even further.
