Consumer inflation eases slightly

JOHANNESBURG - Consumer inflation has eased slightly.

The latest figure has come in lower than analysts had expected at 7.4 percent.

Food and transport were the main drivers of the price rises in November.

A higher inflation outlook supports the case for the Reserve Bank to continue hiking interest rates.

Analysts say the slight dip in the rate of price increases won't immediately convince the Reserve Bank to stop its rate hiking cycle.
