Consumers warned to be careful when going off-grid
JOHANNESBURG - Independent power producer, Sakisa Energy and Technology, is urging South Africans to be aware of safety hazards when going off the grid.
This as the demand and need for alternative power supply in the country continues to grow.
Sakisa's director Eddy Mokobodi says those looking for alternative power should only use tried and trusted service providers.
Mokobodi said, "if the job is not done correctly then you're at risk for anything that might happen."
"Solar panels, batteries and inverters are things that works with electricity. The best way to safeguard yourself is to check the track record or the company."
"Check that you're dealing with a competent person."
