Cooking oil prices on a downward trend

JOHANNESBURG - The cost of living continues to rise, but there is some good news as far as cooking oil is concerned, thanks to a bumper canola harvest season.

The relief comes after global vegetable oils inflation shot up by 14-percent last year as the Russia-Ukraine conflict disrupted supply.

However, global vegetable oils inflation has been on the decline since late 2022.

So can strained consumers expect further relief?
