Cost of living crisis | Meat prices expected to braai your wallet

JOHANNESBURG - Savour your steak, because beef prices are expected to go up in the latter part of the year.

This is because more of our meat may be heading to Saudi Arabia.

This is according to the latest ABSA AgriTrends report.

Absa senior economist Marlene Louw says local beef prices remained flat in 2023, despite higher input costs.

She says price increases are needed to keep the sector profitable.
