CPI increase fuels fears of interest rate hike

JOHANNESBURG - Inflation increased to 5.4 percent in September, up from 4.8 percent in August.

Food, housing and fuel costs drove the rise.

The inflation target band is between 3 and 6 percent, with the midpoint at 4.5 being the goal.
