JOHANNESBURG - Independent school network Curro has hiked its full-year profit and dividend.

But it's warned that the strained economy is hurting school fee payments.

It says long-overdue accounts resulted in some students being excluded.

However, with average pupil numbers increasing the group did see a 17 percent rise in revenue to about R4-billion.

Curro raised its full-year dividend by 35 percent.
