Discovery Health wins court bid against RAF

JOHANNESBURG - Discovery Health has secured a court victory against the Road Accident Fund.

Discovery took on the RAF for a decision in August to reject medical claims submitted by people who are members of any medical scheme.

The High Court in Pretoria has ordered the RAF to halt the directive.

It says the RAF chose to go rogue and did not engage in a consultative public engagement with all stakeholders.

After paying members’ healthcare claims for road accident-related injuries, medical schemes submit the medical claim expenses as part of their members' claims to the RAF.
