JOHANNESBURG - Domestic new vehicle sales surged in August, hitting their highest monthly total since October 2019.
Motor industry association, Naamsa, says over 51,800 new cars and commercial vehicles were sold.
This was up by nearly 19-percent from August last year.
The entire new passenger car market grew by more than 22%.
Naamsa, however, warns that global competition is heating up, and South Africa’s export market could soon face more pressure.
